Hello Hanna,
My name is Kathleen Morken and I was recently hired as the new library director. In my short time in Hanna, I have found the Municipal Library to be an amazing rural library. My goal is to build on the existing programs to help the library better serve local residents. Hanna is a vibrant community, with many groups and organizations working together, and I am looking forward to collaborating with everyone on community events and projects. Our library has many resources and supports available, and I am sure we can be a valuable partner with local businesses, our schools, and the community at large.
The current situation with COVID-19 is constantly changing how the library operates, but in the near future, I plan to introduce the following programs:
I have a Library and Information Technology Diploma from MacEwan University and a BA in Psychology from The King’s University. In the future, I hope to complete my Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alberta.
I was born in Cold Lake and moved to Edmonton when my dad retired from the military in the spring of 2001. Growing up in a big city was great, but I always missed the hometown feel of Cold Lake. I am looking forward to experiencing that same feeling here in Hanna.
